I am here with my final blog post of my travels in Europe (at least for now!). I spent my last day in Europe in London with my mother and we had a splendid time together.
The day began with buying a metro day pass and taking a train over to an area with a famous church called St. Paul’s cathedral and a restaurant we were interested in eating at for lunch. We bought some coffee that we hoped would be good but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the Spain or Italy standards… drinking “American” coffee again will be rough!
We also ended up walking inside the church but couldn’t explore too much because they were having their Sunday service.
Afterwards we went to a restaurant that was very recommended called Black Friars and we tried some more traditional British food. However, mom and I both agreed that the dessert was the best!
After lunch we took more pictures by Big Ben and the London Eye before walking to Buckingham Palace.
Then we laid down in the park next to the palace for an afternoon nap and to sunbathe a bit.
After the nap, we continued walking and visited several other parks. The parks in London are so well kept and beautiful. Unfortunately, it did start to rain a bit but we lucked out in finding a bus sop which we took to get to another train.
Eventually, we made our way to a neighborhood right by regents park. We were both hungry for dinner at this point and somehow made our way into a fancier restaurant. The food was delectable as we celebrated our 2 and a half week trip together!
It is always sad when things come to a close, but mom and I both agreed that we feel ready to go home. I mean heck, she was only gone 2 weeks, I was gone 4 months!
We returned to our Airbnb and prepared our bags for the last step of our trip: returning home.
Worry less and smile more.
